Dicamba

CURRENT STATUS OF DICAMBA IN KANSAS:

On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona vacated the 2020 registrations of three dicamba products: XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology, Engenia Herbicide, and Tavium with VaporGrip Technology. These three products were utilized for weed control in over-the-top applications (post-emergence) on dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton.

On Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued an existing stocks order to address the sale, distribution, and use of these three dicamba products during the 2024 growing season. As a result of the Court’s order, these three products are considered unregistered as of February 6, 2024, and the sale or distribution of the products is unlawful except as provided in EPA’s existing stocks order. To review a copy of EPA’s existing stocks order, please visit EPA’s website:  EPA: Registration of Dicamba for Use on Dicamba-Tolerant Crops.

KDA will continue to monitor this matter for additional information from EPA; we will share that information here as it become available.
