Grade A Producer Information Packet
Dairy farm permits are issued to the applicant and are valid until a change in ownership or a quit. An application for a dairy producer farm permit is included in the Grade A producer information packet.

Dairy Milk Distributor License
A dairy distributor is any person who first sells or offers for sale in Kansas any packaged milk, milk products or dairy products. Dairy distributor licenses expire December 31. License fee is $200. No milk distributor license is required for a licensed dairy manufacturing plant which distributes only those products which it manufactures.

Dairy Milk Hauler License
The dairy inspection program licenses and trains milk haulers, the people who collect milk at the dairy farm. Milk haulers in Kansas are licensed and evaluated on their ability to sample, collect and transport raw milk from the farm to the processing plant. Representative samples from each producer's shipment of milk are collected by the hauler. Producers are paid based on the testing of that sample. New milk haulers must complete a training exercise and a written test before they are licensed by the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Licenses expire June 30 and the fee is $35.

Dairy Manufacturing Plant License
Dairy manufacturing plant means any place where dairy products, Grade A milk or milk products are manufactured or prepared for sale or distribution either at wholesale or retail. License expires December 31. License fee is $200.

Dairy Permit Application
Kansas permits to sell, receive and distribute Grade A milk and milk products are issued to the applicant and are valid for one full calendar year. Dairy fees are required to be paid by producer cooperatives, processors or distributors on Grade A raw milk produced on Kansas farms, Grade A raw milk processed in Kansas manufacturing plants and Grade A packaged milk products sold in Kansas.

Dairy Receiving Transfer Station Application
A transfer station is a facility where a smaller load of milk is pump or "transferred" from one truck to another, usually to a larger truck for transport. The owner or company operating the transfer station should fill out the form.

A receiving station is similar except it is a facility where the milk is pumped from the tanker truck and received into a storage tank(s) until it is further commingled with other milk. License expires December 31 of every year with a fee of $100.

Dairy Single Service Manufacturing License
A license is required to manufacture single-service dairy containers or to manufacture single-service dairy container closures. A single-service container is intended to be used once to package, handle, store or serve Grade A milk or Grade A milk products. License expires December 31 and fee is $100.

Dairy Clean or Sanitizing Permit
Owners of milk tank truck wash stations should fill out the application for milk tank truck cleaning and/or sanitizing permit. License expires December 31 and the fee is $100.
