Each year, international trade contributes significant value to the Kansas agriculture economy. To support and enhance these opportunities in exports, the Kansas Department of Agriculture leads industry-specific trade missions and hosts foreign buying teams throughout the year. KDA also maintains membership in trade associations that offer exporter education, market promotion and market entry programs to enable new and established suppliers to pursue international market opportunities and fuel long-term growth. Memberships include Food Export Association of the Midwest, U.S. Grains Council, U.S. Livestock Genetics Export, Inc., and U.S. Meat Export Federation.

To capture the impact of trade, KDA publishes annual trade statistics on the value of agricultural exports from Kansas.
