Meat production is the most highly regulated sector of the food industry. The Kansas Meat and Poultry Inspection Program is responsible for enforcing state and federal rules and regulations for the production of wholesome and safe meat and poultry products. The program provides regulatory oversight during the day-to-day operations at inspected facilities so consumers can purchase and prepare meat products with confidence in the safety of the product.
