What is a Premises Identification Number (PIN)?

A Premises Identification Number or PIN is a permanent unique number assigned by KDA to a geographically unique location associated with animal agriculture. Registering your premises and obtaining a PIN will provide KDA location information that will allow for more accurate and efficient disease tracing and disease control efforts in the event of a foreign animal disease outbreak.

Quick Facts about Premises Identification Numbers (PIN)

  •  A PIN is a nationally unique 7-digit alphanumeric number. Example -- 00AABB1.
  • All PIN information is confidential information. K.S.A. 47-674(g)
  • Only one PIN is assigned for a location regardless of the type(s) of animal on the premises.
  • A PIN is a permanent number and does not change if the premises is sold.
  • There is no cost to get a PIN
