The Kansas Department of Agriculture has hosted the Kansas Governor's Summit on Agricultural Growth every year in Manhattan, Kansas. The Summit involves Kansas farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses working together in a collaborative setting to discuss growing the agriculture industry in Kansas.

2022 Ag Summit

2021 Ag Summit

The 2021 Ag Growth Summit was held online, and featured presentations from Governor Laura Kelly and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack. The main session included discussions about carbon sequestration, mental health in agriculture, and the recent Securing Local Food Systems grant program. 2020 Ag Summit

2018 Ag Summit

The 2018 Ag Growth Summit began with an Eggs and Issues breakfast with statewide elected officials, and attendees heard from State Treasurer Jake LaTurner, Secretary of State Kris Kobach, Lieutenant Governor Tracey Mann and Congressman Roger Marshall.

Governor Jeff Colyer then addressed the full crowd as the Ag Growth Summit kicked off, and spoke of growth achievements that have been accomplished in Kansas agriculture. See highlights of those achievements.

The morning was spent in workshop sessions to identify significant actions that will be taken next to move forward on the outcomes that have been identified for growth in the 19 sectors of Kansas agriculture. Read more about those outcomes.

Lunch featured comments from Ambassador Gregg Doud, the Chief Agricultural Negotiator in the office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Secretary Jackie McClaskey then shared major takeaways from each sector's morning discussion.
